1. Major structures

The filtration system consists of mixing tank, main machine of the filter, liquid transmission pump, piping, valves, electrical control cabinet, operation workbench, etc. in general.

1. The mixing tank is composed of tank body,cycloid pin gear speed reducer ,stirrer ect .

2. Main machine body (due to the difference of media to be filtered, the structure is of slight change.)It consists of filtration tank, screen, end-plate pullout device, automatic dreg discharging device, hydraulic station, etc.

2. The cleaning of filter screen 

a. Chemical treatment method

Put the filter screen in a clean pool to clean, the cleaning liquid shall be 10~15% NaOH solution (or other liquid which has no corrosive effect to the screen), the temperature shall be 50~60 centigrade, the cleaning time shall not be more than 3 hours, please note that do not use hydrochloric acids or detergent generating free ions, because they may seriously corrode the screen

b. Mechanic cleaning method

Clean the screen with pressurized water spray (6~8 MPa), place the screen vertically on the wooden plant, the exit surface shall be downward, the nozzle of pressurized water shall be at 45 degree to the plane of screen

4. Selection and application of diatomaceous earth, the filter aid

Diatomaceous earth is like powder, the major chemical composition is silicon dioxide, it has excellent chemical stability, shall not contaminate the liquid to be filtered. It can be applied in the filtration of any liquid except concentrated alkali. The sound diatomaceous earth as a filter aid can form solid grid structure filter cake with porosity rate up to 85~90% The filter cake of this structure can intercept the minute particle or colloid impurities over the grid frame, in general it can remove the impurity particles of 0.1~1 micron. The filter cake thus formed is basically not compactable, under certain pressure, it shall keep its porous status which is relatively loose, therefore a higher filtration speed can be maintained and meet the demand for filter.

5. Maintenance

5.1  Before the beginning of each shift, please check whether the hydraulic cylinder, lock-up ring and end-plate pullout device are flexible and operate smoothly, there shall not be any seizure or locking. When enclosing the filter tank, only after the lock-up ring is completely locked (the pressure of main oil circuit shall be up to 5~8 MPa) can the handle on the hydraulic station be moved from locking up position to stop status, so as to ensure the positive sealing at the interface of cover and tank body. The main gasket between the tank cover and tank body is of lip style sealing; make sure there is no alien matter in the opening of lip before each locking

5.2 In the cleaning process, if the screen is damaged due to carelessness, then silver brazing can be sued to patch the damaged place, and the repaired screen can still be used.

5.3 As per actual application, after each cleaning of screen, one inspection shall be conducted for the “O” ring at the bottom of screen plate, if any damaged is discovered then replace it timely

5.4 The oil mister prepared for the vibrator shall be topped up with oil each month, to ensure the normal lubrication of vibrator

5.5 Pay attention to the lubrication of moving parts of hydraulic cylinder and roller device. The piston of hydraulic cylinder shall be protected and avoid the entry of dust and impurity into cylinder which may abrade the piston and damage it.

5.6 Ion case of long term idleness of the machine, please clean up the unit, to keep the material from molding and corroding the parts. Special attention shall be paid to the filter screen.

Horizontal Pressure Leaf Filter consists of the horizontal tank with a removable cover. For sealing of the framing joint and the cover a spacer is used, which is tightened by turning of a bayonet-type ring by means of two hydrocylinders of the valve. Taking of the cover is performed by means of the hydrocylinder also.
