What is a Decanter Centrifuge? Horizontal Bowl centrifuges are also known as decanter centrifuges, centrifugal decanters or simply decanter machines and are primarily used for separation of liquids from appreciable amounts of solids. Decanters can separate over 50% (v/v) solids from liquids on a continuous basis. Typical industrial decanter applications include Crude Oil Tank Bottoms; Waste Oil, Industrial Wastewater, Sludge Dewatering, Fish Meal, WVO/UVO De-Sludging, Paint Sludge, Rendering etc.
Working principle:
Centrifuge main components are: drum, screw pusher, main drive motor, differential system, shell, base, vibration isolator, connecting parts and supporting lubrication system. The body is composed of a conical cylinder and an inner spiral. The body provides enough space for clarifying and separating suspended materials, so that the materials can stay longer in the centrifuge cylinder to ensure the effect of separation.
Centrifuge separation principle: the suspension enters the drum through the feed pipe and the spiral discharge port. Under the action of centrifugal force generated by high-speed rotation, the solid particles with a larger proportion are deposited on the inner wall of the drum. The spiral blades in relative motion with the drum constantly scrape the solid particles deposited on the inner wall of the drum and push out the slag discharge port. After separation, the clear liquid flows out of the drum through the opening of the liquid layer regulating plate. The relative motion between the screw and the drum, or the differential speed, is achieved by the differential, the size of which is controlled by the auxiliary motor

The 3-phase decanter separates which contains oil into an oil phase, solids and virtually oilfree waste water. Because of its high dry matter, the solids can be recycled relatively easily.

Q:The paper mill sewage is treated with a horizontal screw centrifuge. It is found that there is a little bit more slag and blockage. How to deal with it?
A:How to judge that the horizontal spiral centrifuge has a little more slag? Is it compared with the same technical parameters before? Or did you change another decanter centrifuge or add too much medicine? Increasing the precision of machine parameters or the dosage of reagents both can bring about more slag discharging. In short, the smaller suspended solids that were previously hidden in the sewage are also separated by centrifugation. If the pretreatment is not done well, it can also increase the solid content of the fluid.
We have 2 solutions to solve the condition of more slag. One is to do a good job of pretreatment to reduce the solid content of the fluid, and the other is to adjust the differential speed of the spiral sweeping paddle of the horizontal screw centrifuge to make the pushing more smooth.
